We have heard stories of people who were to be killed by hired assassins, but whose lives were preserved because they had done one good thing or assisted one of the assassins at one time or the other. At such a time such good people have enjoyed preservation of their lives and destinies by their interpersonal relationships. This is similar to what David enjoyed from Jonathan. David knew that Jonathan's father, Saul, intended to kill him. Jonathan did not believe at first, but an event confirmed it to him. Instead of colluding with his father to eliminate David, Jonathan chose rather to dissociate himself from the evil plan of his father and chose to incur his wrath rather than seeing David dead. David's life and destiny were preserved by this act of Jonathan. No wonder after David became King, he transferred the love and honour he had for Jonathan his friend to Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, in spite of his physical challenge (2 Sam. 9:6-8).
Point of Emphasis: The one you relate well with today may be used by God to preserve your life tomorrow.
Prayer Point: Lord, my life must not be terminated prematurely. Send help to me and preserve my life.
